AIN'T IT A SIN BY CHARLES BRADLEY

Some hip, to-the-minute, yet immediately old school soul from former James Brown impersonator Charles Bradley. Taken from his third album Changes, named after the Sabbath cover that also features on it and released on April 1, Ain't It A Sin is a bona fide toe-tapper in the old soul traditions with the 67-year old Bradley's vocals perfectly offset by the bass-ridden and horn-infused music.

He's late to the party as a front man, but this offers something different to the old boys coming back. As Pitchfork had it: "Surrounded by talented revivalists half his age, the singer remains a precious commodity: the real thing. He’s not reenacting or revisiting, he’s on his first run through. And it's still inspiring to watch him live it out at last."
