SFC FRIEDRICHSHAIN INTERNAZIONALE 2016 BY PUMA

Sometimes a kit comes along and all you can do is admire it. Sometimes it's a kit from a club you've never even heard of.

Today, that happened to me. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the SFC Friedrichshain Internazionale home and away kit by Puma. The club won promotion to the Verbandsliga last year and will wear the kits for the 2016/17 season.

SFCF Inter - as they are known for short - are an amateur club based out of the Berlin district of Friedrichshain. As a club, they stand up for the minorities and against homophobia and sexism in football. They are an international group of players: 26 registered players from 14 different nationalities.

Player-manager Andrew Weber tells me  "SFCF Inter is an international ‘Freizeit’ football team based in Berlin which stands up for minorities and vocally opposes homophobia and sexism."

Weber also designed the club's kit, of which he says: "the design process was quite simple. We voted together to take on a new identity just before the previous season, with the Black Unicorn and using pink as a feature colour to visually represent our standing up for minorities and vocally opposes homophobia and sexism."

The club's badge is an Italian-inspired, Sampdoria-esque white, pink and black shield paired with a black unicorn. The unicorn was design by Weber's brother Jon  on pen and paper and then added to a club badge by Feint Creative

The choice of manufacturer was a straight-forward one, says Weber "Then we found a manufacturer that had the best pink shirts, which was Puma by far, and went with an obscure design of theirs that I hadn't seen used before. The rest is history."

As an international side, there are certainly some interesting and diverse people in the team. Football fans may know Musa Okwonga (from his writing), Ryu Voelkel (for his photography), and Andrew (for his graphic and website design).

This year is the first in which SFCF Inter have sold their shirts to fans.

The shirt's sponsor is a local bar in Friedrichshain called Krass Böser Wolf, which the team often frequent.

The shirt is available in Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large, with a cost of 30 Euros. 5 euros of each sale will be donated to charity. Anyone wanting to order the SFC Inter shirt should do so by the 29th of July. Shirts can be purchased by emailing the manager, Andrew Weber, at andrew.weber@feintcreative.com
