You know very well that we love  *all* football at In Bed With Maradona and the most trivial details with the flimsiest of associations to the beautiful game can get us all excited.  We’ll happily while away the hours perusing trading cards, club beer mat catalogues or undersoil heating planning applications for example. 

And don’t get us started on stadiums. 

Crumbling concrete hulks deemed surplus post perestroika, or newly fangled eco friendly club ‘hubs’ with colour coded fan zones are enough to moisten the collective IBWM gusset.

But it doesn’t stop there. Today, we’re not getting excited about a revolutionary riveting technique at some new ground in a far off land (and you can see a lot more of that malarkey at the sublime Stadium Porn), no, today we’ve gone all unnecessary about some corporate headquarters.

Now before you walk away, these aren’t just any headquarters, this is the global HQ of that most synonymous with football brands; adidas.

Having supplied boots, kits, tracksuits and other forms of attire to the world’s leading players for most of the last century, the firm moved into a new state of the art complex, named ‘laces’, a couple of months back.

Situated in the town of Herzogenaurach in South Eastern Germany, the building is the concept of Kada Wittfeld Architektur.  Featuring an innovative ‘laces’ theme with connecting walkways and ‘turbocharged’ typographic signage by designer Büro Uebele, the building is home to just over 1,700 of adidas’ employees.

As you can see from the pictures, this is a particularly impressive structure and a destination that has rocketed to top spot on the IBWM ‘I WANT TO GO THERE NOW’ list.

Why can’t we work somewhere like this?
