New stadiums in the news for all the wrong reasons recently (or right reasons if it shakes FIFA out of it's ongoing ignorance - unlikely - or stops the appalling situation in Qatar), so it's unlikely that much attention will be paid to the new Allianz Riviera which opened recently at the Plaine du Var eco vallée near Nice.  The stadium, designed by Wilmotte & Associés Sa, holds 35,000 fans and also provides a home to the Musée National du Sport.  The museum will display more than 100,000 artefacts and documents, the oldest dating back to the 16th Century.
