ART OF THE CONFEDERATIONS

The Art of the Confederations project was devised by a collective of modern day artists who were tasked to seek inspiration from more famous contemporaries and deliver a poster for each of the eight nations that took part in this year’s Confederations Cup.  For Brazil, the elegant brushwork of the late Tarsila do Amaral was selected as a reference point.  For Spain and Italy, the stellar cast of Picasso and Leonardo da Vinci (in his anatomical study phase) provided inspiration.   The genius of Utagawa Kuniyoshi (Japan), Joseph Amédokpo (Nigeria), Paul Gauguin (Tahiti), Carlos Páez Vilaró (Uruguay) was also heavily lent on, whilst the Mexico poster took its vibe from Jorge González Camarena and the world of Lucha Libre.
