AND GAZZA MISSES THE FINAL BY ROB SMYTH AND SCOTT MURRAY

We're just going to put this right out there from the off, we *love* this book. One of the reasons you'll never see a negative book review on IBWM is because if we don't like something we simply don't put it up here, as your mother told if you haven't got anything good to say and all that. When we put something up it's a recommendation, we've enjoyed it so we hope you will too, and in this instance we can't recommend it highly enough.

MBMs are a funny thing, not to everyone's taste admittedly, but what you have here are some of the World Cup's biggest matches and moments MBM-ed brilliantly.  The details you forget about games, goals and moments you were positive you knew inside out are staggering - as the back cover reminds you how long is it since you thought about David Platt's 111th minute disallowed goal that would have England to the 1990 World Cup final? And be assured that despite the title this isn't in anyway England-centric, the very first MBM in the book is the fatídico final of 1950 between Brazil and Uruguay and throughout the focus is on the great games and not any single nation.

If we had to pick a favourite it would the MBM of USA'94's second round game between Romania and Argentina but it would be for personal reasons and that's the joy of this book, somewhere in there is that moment you've not thought about for years that will leave you full of joy for the rest of the day.

Enough gushing but it is fair enough to say it's the perfect World Cup warm-up. You can purchase it in hard copy here for £8.99, and on e-formats here, hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
