HOPELESS FOOTBALL ROMANTIC

Founded with the intention to share positive stories about the beautiful game, Hopeless Football Romantic is quietly making a name for itself in the world of fanzines.

Already on Issue 5, the fanzine has come on leaps and bounds since Issue 1. The words and the stories told have maintained a high standard, whilst the design and readability have improved tenfold.

The result is a magazine fit for any football lover's coffee table.

Co-founder and Chief Editor Stuart Mole told In Bed With Maradona:

We all have a thirst for knowledge, a desire to seek out stories you are not familiar with. This is why independent football literature is so important. You can recapture a spirit from somebody’s memories, learn an endless amount from somebody’s emotion and sentiment. When people fashion content from the heart, expressing their love for football, whether that is illustrative, written matter or photography, you have us in your hand. We are with you.

The magazine has developed a new mascot, Nelé - a ball balancing elephant - and have sold-out their first run of merchandise, the Rosenberg t-shirt.

In Issue 5, the stories are wide ranging and diverse. From cover star Hugo Sanchez to Tino Asprilla and a rather lovely piece on Giorgio Chinaglia (by yours truly).

Hopeless Football Romantic Issue 5 is available now from the H.F.R Shop
