The 1980 UEFA European Championships were held in Italy and won by West Germany. At this point the finals still consisted of just 8 teams.
While the Germans were fairly dominant, Belgium played well and Italy were particularly unlucky not to reach the final.
The sense of injustice probably spurred the host nation on in Spain at the 1982 World Cup, so all's well that ends well.
Worth watching this, get yourself comfortable.
