He was outstanding at Ajax and well worth legendary status at Arsenal, but sandwiched between those magical times was a not too glittering period.
When Dennis Bergkamp and former Ajax teammate Wim Jonk arrived at Inter in 1993, the Nerazzurri were on the slide. Struggling to adjust to life in Serie A, Bergkamp endured a difficult two years in Milan and few tears were shed at the Guiseppe Meazza when he became Bruce Rioch’s first signing for Arsenal.
There are plenty of showreels around featuring Dennis Bergkamp’s exploits at Arsenal, and we could easily lose ourselves in hours of fabulous footage featuring his (numerous) best moments in North London, but we quite like these two videos highlighting the Dutch striker’s greatest hits at Ajax and all of his goals in Italy.
