It's easy to forget that Brandi 'only' got 192 caps for the USA, as well scoring the winning penalty in the Women's World Cup Final in 1999.

While the celebration almost eclipsed the achievement (going on to make the front cover of newspapers worldwide as well as Time and Sports Illustrated), it should be noted Brandi deserves recognition for her talent above all. Mia Hamm will always take the headlines and quite rightly so, but in the great 1999 USA women's team, Brandi was part of the engine room that pushed them to success.

Two videos here, the first a short interview from 2009 in which she talks about the World Cup win and the day of the final itself, and we had to include the penalty shoot-out from that game, still the single most watched women's athletic event of all time.
