September 1954 and one of the greatest players to have ever played the game has just made his debut.

Roy of the Rovers remains an obsession for some (including one of the IBWM editing team whose initials may or may not be DH...) and this month marks his debut as a strip in Tiger in 1954. Within three years he had become widely popular and a cover star for the comic and the year's annual, by 1976 he had his own title that would run for an incredible 853 issues.

This little documentary is 15 minutes of Roy-based-love and history, as well as featuring interviews with editor Barrie Tomlinson and the quintessential ROTR artist Paul Trevillion.
