RING THE BELLS BY MUSA OKWONGA

A debut single from all-round renaissance man Musa Okwonga.
One of the many things that Musa is is a poet. Like many before him - this writer still clings to the albums John Cooper Clarke made in the late 1970s, for example - he's now set some of that to music. He's a very different poet to the Bard of Salford, so the comparison ends there. Instead, this a thoughtful and yet powerful track detailing Musa's move from his home town of London to Berlin.
Teaming up with Greg Surmacz of Paper Tiger, the music sits comfortably alongside the mellifluous tones of Musa's voice. It pours over you like treacle - in a good way.
