FREEDOM BY GABRIEL BRUCE

FREEDOM BY GABRIEL BRUCE

Gabriel Bruce's new album very nearly didn't happen at all. After his well-received debut solo album in 2013, a follow-up was put in doubt when an accident nearly meant him losing his hand, crushed under a block of marble. All five fingers were, fortunately, saved, though it rendered him out of action for some time.
But now we have that follow-up. Come All Sufferers came out at Easter earlier this year. "The album is about the apocalypse", Bruce told Wonderland magazine. "It’s not hard to come to that as a subject these days: we’re living in the end days and things are so fucked up. But the thing is, you can either laugh or cry right? So at the end of the album I start laughing and then it turns into sort of like a wail. But it’s a laugh, it’s laughing and crying at the absurdity and the horror."
