SHRINES BY THE BLACK SHEEP FREDERICK DICKENS

We love something a bit different here and this fits that bill to a T.
Here, we have Darlingtonians David Saunders and Rob Irish collaborating as The Black Sheep Frederick Dickens. “The Black Sheep is a musical concept project narrating the life of Frederick Dickens, Charles’ younger brother.” Saunders explains. “He turned to drinking, womanising, gambling and was eventually severed from the family. He slowly started to descend into poverty and addiction, and we’ve taken this narration and drawn parallels to modern living.”
All of which is fair enough. Filled with samples of noises found around Darlington, Dickensian-era instruments and well as modern tech, it makes for a moody, atmospheric, borderline Gothic record. Quite exceptional.
