LEWES FC AND THE GENIUS OF PROWORX

They like to be different down in East Sussex, and none more so than in the pretty market town of Lewes.

The town is famed for its bonfire celebrations, has its own currency (the Lewes pound) and a 100% community owned football club who can count some A-list celebrities among its impressive list of 800 plus members.

Whilst the achievements of the club at step seven of the football pyramid are modest, the match day experience is definitely Premier League. Home-made pies, a match day programme that would put Football League clubs own magazines to shame, a pint of locally brewed Harvey's beer that you can drink on the terraces and match day posters.

In a world where the internet rules, few football clubs still bother with the concept of Match day posters, but, as we have said, Lewes do things differently.

In the run up to a home game, posters start appearing all over the town, in shop windows, pubs and even in the window of the local MP's surgery. And what of the posters themselves? They are simply a work of art. Designed by local firm Proworx Ltd they change the theme week in, week out. Sometimes the connection with the game is obvious, sometimes it is more subtle but they are all truly Lewes FC.
