They will forever be referred to as ‘the army club’ but the only link that the modern day Steaua București has to the military is due to their ground being owned by the Romanian Ministry of Defence.

A third place finish last year was reasonable, however it’s coming up to seven years since one of European football’s most famous names clinched a league title.  CFR Cluj remains the team to beat, but the Roș-Albaștrii will be hoping a new matchday outfit will help swing things in their direction.
