Markus Stolla was never one for modern football footwear, preferring to wear boots from the 70's like the adidas Ranger throughout his successful amateur career.

When a knee injury forced him to retire Markus followed his dream of designing his own classic style boot. After two years of hard work, including a trip to Lake Garda on his old Yamaha motorbike to engage the services of an Italian shoe maker with forty years experience producing football boots, the Retro Star Classic boot was formed.

The boots, which bare a likeness to Markus’s hero George Best’s old Matchmaker Stylo’s, are made from a single piece of the finest Italian calf leather, are hand stitched, come without minimal branding and definitely aren't available in garish colours.
