Tokyo based brand City Boys FC teamed up with OBSCR, a Kuala-Lumpar based brand, to bring us this capsule collection.
The collection is entitled 'EQUALITY' and it strongly emphasises football beyond racial barriers alongside promotion diversity within the game. Racial incidents sadly occur across the global game and this is why the people behind the project are making their voices heard.
Football is a universal language, it's the beautiful game. No matter what you call it, the love for the game is shared across the world which is exactly what this collection highlights.
The capsule collection consists of three products: 'Foot-ccer' hoodie, 'RESPECT' tee and the 'El Tigre' tote bag.
The hoodie is a split tone hoodie that embodies the name of the game in two different forms; football and soccer. Completed with a respect patch and ball embroidery on each side and an 'OBSCR' signature reflective strip on the back.
A t-shirt with the word 'RESPECT' boldly printed on the back and the print on the front has been inspired by 1910 painting by Henri Matisse called 'La Dense'. The brands want to depict that no matter what race we are, we can all unite and come to celebrate this wonderful game.
Commemorating the late Arthur Freidenreich who was a Brazilian football player nickname 'El Tigre'. During his career he faced multiple battles with racism and this tote bag pays tribute to him. A reminder that this game is the world's game.
