GOING TO THE MATCH BY PRZEMEK NICIEJEWSKI

Here's another stunning photography book to add to your coffee table; Going To The Match by Przemek Niciejewski.

He has attempted to capture the portrait of a person who measures their life against fixtures when deciding which events they can and cannot attend. A person who equates periods of their life to how their team performed over a couple of seasons. In other words; a football fan. Niciejewski focusses on the habitual and ritual elements of supporting your favourite team.

From a walk through Stanley Park to reach the hallowed Anfield, to a walk through a muddy field to watch your mates play in the park.  If you're a fan - you're a fan.

And Niciejewski captures that.

To do so, he has visited hundred and hundreds of stadiums across Europe, with much of his work focussing on matches in Poland, Germany and the UK. Not that he watches much football. His lens primed for action taking place away from the pitch.

Published by Magnus in Warsaw, this beauty weighs in at 224 pages of quality reportage football photography.
