NIKE'S NEW GENERATION FOR AFRICA

IBWM StaffComment

"Too often we have seen African dreams turned to dust

Or end in defeat, no matter how glorious

We pledge to make a change

To break the cycle"

Nike’s New Generation campaign launched at the start of the African Cup of Nations featuring four rising stars of the African game. Part of the 'New Masters of Football' series, the campaign is targeted at delivering a new philosophy among young players in and from Africa.

The New Generation idea is about creating a mindset capable of delivering the biggest prizes in world football and to shaking off the African football stereotype of corruption, in-fighting and selfish indifference.  The Campaign features Andre Ayew of Olympique Marseille and Ghana, Gervinho of Arsenal and Cote D'Ivoire, Adel Taarabt of QPR and Morocco and Kwadwo 'Kojo' Asamaoah of Udinese and Ghana.

The key message for Nike’s campaign is that Africa has produced wonderfully talented footballers who have forged amazing careers in the game, but now it’s time for the new generation of footballers to claim victory.  The next couple of weeks are a very good time to start.
