BT SPORT FILMS - GOLAZZO: THE FOOTBALL ITALIA STORY

BT Sport Films have just announced the next instalment in their acclaimed documentary series, Golazzo: The Football Italia Story. The short film will premiere on BT Sport 2 at 10pm on Saturday 31 March.

Golazzo: The Football Italia Story captures the essence of a unique period for football fans in the UK, a period in which Italian football became hugely popular following England’s run to the semi-finals at the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. Presented from locations across Italy by the face of Italian football on British TV during the 1990s, James Richardson, Golazzo hopes to reconnect fans with the unmistakable look of Italian football with TV footage from the archives not seen on TV for twenty years.

Golazzo: The Football Italia Story features the likes of Paul Ince and Gianfranco Zola reminiscing about their time in Serie A and also includes footballing legends Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard as they reflect on their personal memories as young boys following Italian football.
