Ben Sahar

Ben Sahar     22     Striker     Hapoel Tel Aviv

How is Ben Sahar on this list?  He must be 40 by now, surely?

Nope, Sahar is 22 and still not performing at the level many hoped he would aspire.  Has turned out for a myriad of clubs across Europe, and there lies the problem.  Sahar is talented, but just can’t nail a position.  Or a club.

Following three years of being traipsed around Europe on loan from Chelsea, Sahar is now on the books of Espanyol.  The move to Cataluña hasn’t seen much change and the youthful Israeli has again been loaned around Europe for two further years.

Currently on a season long borrow at Auxerre, who retain the right to buy for €1.5m, this really has to be make or break for a player that promised so much as a teenager.  We’re not holding our breath though.

"Didn't do too badly at Hillsborough; can make some good runs & knows how to finish. Useful player in any half-decent league" - @obscurefootball

"If scoring twice against Liverpool in a friendly is your biggest achievement then it is really saying something." - @mzachodny

"At only 22 he has played for too many clubs and never really shown much at any of them. I hope he stays and does well at Auxerre" – Andrew Gibney (French Football Weekly)

E       It’s all gone horribly wrong.
