José Rondón
José Salomon Rondón 21 Striker Malaga
Rondón is the explosive Venezuelan forward who scored the goals that kept Malaga in La Liga last season. Tall, powerful and capable of ballet dancer and battering ram as and when required, perhaps if the money hadn’t flooded into Malaga a move to a bigger name club would have materialised. Capable of scoring all sorts of goals, if one had to point to a weakness it would perhaps be that, despite his size, his heading isn’t all that it could be.
With Malaga now flush and several high profile and talented arrivals pitching up at the Estadio La Rosaleda, everything is in place to provide Rondón with the platform to progress provided he can keep his striking berth in the team. As long as he’s picked he has the opportunity to thrive on enhanced service from the likes of Toulalan and Joaquin, and grow when playing next to the likes of Van Nistelrooy. We anticipate and hope for an exciting season, but with the goals drying up recently we fear he’s not a big enough name to keep his place in the first eleven.
“Scorer of plenty of goals last season in Malaga & at the Copa America, his star continues to rise as long as he isn’t swamped by Malaga’s millions’” - Kieran Canning (Spanish Football.info)
C+ Good work, but keep scoring.
